Let’s Talk About Relationship Investment Scams - Investor.gov
In the past few months, you’ve probably received a message from someone you don’t know. Maybe it was an unsolicited job offer via text, a wrong number text, or an unknown DM about your social media profile. Be wary because it could be a scammer trying to lure you into a relationship investment scam.
In this type of scam, scammers try to form a friendship with you before offering a phony investment opportunity. Once you put your money into the fake investment, the scammer and your money vanish.
